This idea came to me in a dream.....nah, I read a review and noticed the person mention this.
Thought it would be helpful to you newbies, and I had a blast writing it.

Meaning of Wild (or MoW, for short) is a realistic wolf/canine roleplay set on a mysterious volcanic island.
The island was once colonized for a short period of time, before the volcano became active, and then promptly abandoned and forgotten by all but the animals.
The main predators of the island are the canines, which are made up of immigrants (found their way to the island), natives (were already there to begin with), and abandoned pets (that's where dogs and exotic species may fit in).
Any species can be any of these and the person may choose where their character fits in.
The time line is not set in stone, though it is generally agreed that the volcano became active before the current residents' time.
Players may create a character so long as it is a canine (dog, wolf, dingo, etc.) or a vulpine (fox). Extinct species are fine, since it is a secluded island after all.
Exceptions can and will be made when it comes to animals such as the thylacine (also known as the Tasmanian Tiger, wolf-like marsupial) and the Hyena (not a canine at all, more like a cat or weasel). It is not limited to these two.
If you are not sure that the species you wish to roleplay will be accepted, just go ahead and create it's profile. The admin (that's me) will let you know whether the species will work or not.
No humans will be accepted unless a plot calls for it.

A roleplay? Whats that??
Well, a roleplay is when two people love each other very much take on the roles of different characters and act out (in words) how the characters react to one another and their environment. If you're still confused, here's a simple example.
Bob's character is named Billy and is a gray wolf while Jane's character is named Sara and is a fox.
Ex:
Bob: Billy walked into the forest, the wind ruffled his gray fur as he ate a dead bird.
Jane: Sara watched from a bush as Billy ate the dead bird, her long tail was coiled around her red body, she jumped from the rustling bush and stole his food!
That's roleplaying (though what we do here is usually a paragraph or two longer per post)

Just make an account using the register button beneath the large banner at the top of the page. Once you've done that just go into the board named 'Characters' and use the form to make your very own character. Look at other user's posts as examples.
Once the admin accepts your character you are free to roleplay as that character.
What's the focus of this place, I mean, what am I supposed to roleplay about? Is there a site-wide plot or something?
Not at the moment, no. We don't have a site-wide plot.
This roleplay focuses more on the lives of the animals living on the island, your characters, and their own little problems, their plots (you can create your own plot with other member(s) in the Plots board).
If there is a site-wide plot, it will be forwarded by the members' (and their characters') actions.
Do I have to be an advanced roleplayer to play here?
No, though this site is normally advertised as an advanced or intermediate roleplay (which is also encouraged, though not required here) you don't need to be an advanced roleplayer. We accept roleplayers from all walks of 'life' and allow them to hone their skills.
Ive made my character and I want to start a pack. How do I go about doing that?
Go to the packland's board that you want to claim, and if it's got no alpha, make a claiming post. If the land has already been claimed you may challenge the alpha (as in, fight them) for the right to be leader.
Ex:
Bob: Billy went into the empty packland and, smelling no other wolves, claimed it as his own.
or,
Bob: Billy went into the packland and, smelling that it had already been claimed, he howled to let the alpha know he was going to challenge him for the land.
^Though, once again, your posts should be longer. Billy's just not very good at this yet.
How many characters can I have??
As many as you want, you just have to keep them active.
How long is a year in this game?
Four months, each month is a season (winter, summer, etc.).
What about mating? I want to hear about that part! =D

Mating in MoW is not graphic. As in, no describing it in such detail that it could be considered porn. You may describe it to an extant, just don't go overboard or I will go ape on you (as in, ban you for who-knows-how-long).
You may just have it 'fade to black' or just insinuate (say that the bred) without actually posting anything about it if you want.
Either way is fine so long as it isn't extremely graphic. And don't think I cant tell smut from..whatever....cause I can.

Can I cross two species when my character mates?
Sure, but whether they have pups or not will be determined by what species/gender they are (wolf-X-fox [or male-x-male] gets no pups while wolf-X-dog [or male-x-female] gets pups).....and if the couple is compatible, I get to use my dice to choose their stats (as in, are they sick/dead/are there two pups or one, are they steril, etc.)
I really like to use my dice and I only roll once for each litter, so you need to cross your fingers. ;D
But seriously, I love when I get to use my dice.

What if I don't want my character/his or her pups anymore?
Go into the Characters board and then go to the Adoption sub-board. Post their bio there in it's own topic saying that it's up for adoption, then other people can ask if they can have it.
Or, you can kill them off.
Yeah, mums can eat their pups if they really don't want to keep them and can stomach doing it...yeah, it's gruesome.
