Summer
Summer has arrived, bringing heavy rains and flooding. Lakes have begun to overflow into their surrounding lands, created small and temporary marshes. Streams have become rivers and rivers have been faring about the same as the lakes. Many animals have begun to seek higher ground, as huge floods have been coming and going like day and night.
When the rain does subside, on the sunniest days, the air turns thick with heat and mist. Prey has been keeping in larger groups than before, perhaps hoping to find some strength in numbers against the storms.

On the edges of the map, past the depictions of dragons and sea serpents there is open ocean.
Hidden in this empty vastness is an island long forgotten by man..
The island was once populated by numbers people using it for mining metals, at that time small packs of native wolves populated the outer reaches. After the sudden appearance and eruption of the volcano that all changed.
The explosion of dust sent the island's ecosystem into chaos, causing parts of it to become sweltering hot year round while other parts would be icy cold. The surviving humans left while the wolves and abandoned dogs spread out and repopulated the island.
Soon enough the humans grew wary of returning to the island for rumors of vicious predators were spreading, as time passed it was forgotten. The wolves had regained their past control.
But nothing lives forever and newcomers have found their way into the ranks of old.
Can they handle the responsibilities, or will they fall prey to the elements?

Been a while.

Activity is slow, but not completely dead. Ive changed the season to Summer, finally.

Ive made the decision to stop chanigng the skin with each and every season and Ive gone back to the original tan layout, for two reasons.
It's just a little bit of a hassle for me, and Im guessing that there might be a memeber (not saying there is one, but might be one in the future) who could find reason to dislike it due to text color and signature issues....I also very much like the original layout. :D

The season layouts are still available.
Yeah, Ive been surfing through other boards again. xD

Ive also noticed that a lot of you guys have characters you haven't been roleplaying. If you dont want them either put them up for adoption, kill them, or ask me to delete them. That is all.

It's been a long time, hasn't it?

The activity check will be ending sometime tomorrow or the next day, so be sure to post (it is in the Updates board) before I close it! I ended it. Too bad. xD

Also, Winter will be beginning tomorrow. Let me know of any topics that have ended so I can move them to the appropriate board.

Hey everybody,
just a quick update this time.
There's a new topic, the FAQ, posted in the Rules & Info board.

I'd also like to add that seasons have been lengthened from lasting just two weeks to lasting a full month each.

There's a new board for members to discuss plot related things....like plots and mates.

Also, starting on the 31st (Autumn here), seasons will last a full month each instead of two weeks.

Also, the news is like, all different-ish now, since I wanted to try it out.

Unclaimable Lands

Grey ash. For miles, that its all that can be seen in this sweltering desert land. There are no plants, no rocks, and no prey, only a seemingly unending desert....until a wolf makes it to the center. At the center is a huge, circular field of bright red flowers. Walking through them sends up flashes of yellow pollen which makes travelers tired and may send them into deep sleeps. If one can get through the field a large round stone can be found in an empty, charred depression in the earth. Venus flytraps fill it, giving the desert one last laugh.

A forest of large dogwoods. The grass here is constantly short and the trees cover almost every inch of the ground, blocking the sun from reaching any of the smaller bushes and weeds below. There are small steam geysers dotted about the landscape that go off every now and again.

[ ]Bubbling Beach
Bubbling Beach isn't located on an ocean, but instead it's on a lake. The lake is located directly on top of a hidden magma chamber deep underground that heats the waters, making them bubble. It acts like a large hot spring rather than a lake. Unexplainable tropical fish live in the warm waters although it is far from the actual sea.

Four miles from Bubbling Beach is a single large mountain. In truth it's a dormant volcano, yet in contrast to it's fiery past it is now frigid and cold, the forest gradually dropping away and getting icier as you go. Snow falls often and the tree cover is scarce on the mountain. The ground itself has no grass, it is covered in a thick sheet of ice and a blanket of snow. It is rumored that a herd of bison can be found at the top, though no wolf has reached the summit alone.

Pack Lands
[ ]Hoboken Rails
Hoboken Rails, many a wolf lost it's life here to the train. But they need not worry any longer, as the railroad was built many years ago before the last eruption of the volcano. Since then it has been overcome by clumps of ivy, patches of clover, and pockets of bare earth. Parts of the metal have been melted away and many rocks made from hardened lava are all about. Still, few wolves venture here for the smell of humans long gone still lingers. It may be difficult to scent other wolves due to this.

This land is extremely unsafe for those wolves that do not know much of climbing and can't deal with sweltering heat well. The canyon's walls were carved out many years ago by the ocean's currents but are now dry, with the small exception of the river that flows at the bottom. Caves adorn its sides with large ledges that sometimes give way under the weight of a wolf. All lands can be seen from the highest point, which is where the alphas sleep.

A dark forest of gigantic, charred, ash covered trees on the other side of the main volcano. Situated in the center of the land is a large lake, it's blood-like water has a reddish tint. Some say that this pack's members dump the ones they kill into the waters. This theory is supported by the occasional bone that is found along it's edges. Though, more traveled and wiser wolves believe it to be algae growing in the lake, the same is sometimes seen in oceans and often called 'Red Tide.' It is unwise to drink the thick water either way, as it may cause illness and is rotten in taste.

Dead trees slowly begin to fill out, changing from drooping and burnt to lush and green before completely filling out into a rainforest. Huge trees tower high above the ground, the grass grows thick and a river of clear water runs throughout. Rain comes often, and occasional floods plague the land. Strange an new prey, such as okapis and lemurs, make their home within the lush forest's boundries. A huge waterfall sheilds the single master den where the entire pack sleeps. The alpha's den is located deeper in, the only single cave not connected to the main.
